PSYCHIC ABILITIES
Psychic ability, also known as parapsychology, is the study of mental phenomena, whether actual or purported, that are not currently explainable within the framework of mainstream, conventional science. Many people are not satisfied with the term, and have proposed alternatives, such as "psi research" (similar to the older term "psychical research"), but parapsychology is the term that has the greatest acceptance today. Our articles cover various types of parapsychology (or psychic abilities).
PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT
There are many new age movements today, professing certain ways and means of developing that part of the brain that lays dormant and unused. Religions and beliefs likewise play a rather large role in the aspect of psychic development. Psychic Soul does not adhere to any specific belief, nor religion, but attempts to bring forth a wide spectrum of possibilities to allow freedom of choice as to what route you as the individual wish to follow. We cannot make you psychic, for the psychic is already within you,…..we can however help you, and guide you into bringing that aspect of yourself to the fore.
PSYCHIC PROTECTION
Protection towards anything is only deemed necessary if a concession has been made that a threat exists. Such too is the case in the world of psychism and Spiritism. Protection can be sought via various means and methods, certain tools and aids can be called upon. At the end of the day, it boils down to the elimination or reduction of negative energy in oneself and in another.
Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.
AFTER LIFE & DEATH
In the popular mind, after life is a belief. It is generally thought to be a non-verifiable (and non-falsifiable) belief because it is generally accepted as beyond the experiential knowledge or casual accessibility of most people. For an after life to exist, there must be something that survives the body when death occurs; this immaterial thing is usually called soul or spirit.
ANCIENT CIVILISATIONS
As history repeats itself, we tend to look back at the past of mankind, and their civilisations. What can we learn or detract from past experiences? The past holds many secrets long buried and forgotten. Some have been uncovered again……
ASTRAL - OUT OF BODY
Astral projection is an out of body experience (OOBE) technique, sometimes associated with the occult and the New Age movement, where it is said that the "astral body", or "double", which some believe to be one of several co-incident "bodies" in each person, is able to move free of the physical body. During astral projections, sometimes the traveler reports being attached to his/her physical body by a silver umbilical cord.
ASTROLOGY
Astrology is any of several traditions or systems that believe knowledge of the apparent positions of celestial bodies is useful in understanding, interpreting and organizing knowledge about reality and human existence on earth. All are based on the relative positions and movement of various real and construed celestrial bodies.
DIVINATION
Divination is the occultic practice of ascertaining information by supernatural means. If a distinction is to be made with fortune telling, divination has a formal or ritual and often social character, usually in a religious context, while fortune-telling is a more everyday practice for personal purposes.Divination is a universal cultural phenomenon which anthropologists have observed as being present in many religions and cultures in all ages up to the present day.
DREAMS
Dreaming is the subjective experience of involuntary imaginary images, thoughts or sensations during sleep. Dreaming is associated with rapid eye movement, (REM) sleep, a lighter form of sleep that occurs during the later portion of the sleep cycle.True dreaming has only been confirmed in homo sapiens sapiens, but many believe that dreaming occurs in other animals. Animals certainly undergo REM sleep, but their subjective experience is difficult to determine. The animal with the most periods of REM sleep is the armadillo.
MAGICK
Magick is a spelling of magic, used by Aleister Crowley to differentiate the type congruent with sorcery from illusion or stage magic. His definition treats magic in the context of the paranormal and magic in the context of religion as special cases.Crowley defined magick as "the science and art of causing change to occur in conformity with the will."
MEDITATION
Meditation usually refers to a state of extreme relaxation and concentration, in which the body is generally at rest and the mind quieted of surface thoughts. Several major religions include ritual meditation; however, meditation itself need not be a religious or spiritual activity.Another form of meditation is more closely akin to prayer and worship, wherein the practitioner turns spiritual thoughts over in the mind and engages the brain in higher thinking processes. The goal in this case is the receipt of spiritual insights and new understanding.
MEDIUMSHIP
In the New Age Movement, channeling is the claimed receipt of information or commands by a person functioning as a medium or channel for an unknown or divine source, much as a radio receives a signal from a transmitter. Although the term was coined in the 20th Century, the concept is quite old and widespread.
METAPHYSIC
Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy, and related to the natural sciences, like physics, psychology and the biology of the brain; and also to mysticism and religious and spiritual subjects. It is notoriously difficult to define, but for purposes of briefly introducing it to nonphilosophers, it can be identified as the study of any of the most fundamental concepts and beliefs about the basic nature of reality, on which many other concepts and beliefs rest -- concepts such as being, existence, universal, property, relation, causation, space, time, event, and many others.
MYSTICISM
Mysticism is meditation, prayer or theology focused on the direct experience of union with divinity, God, or Ultimate Reality, or the belief that such experience is a genuine and important source of knowledge. In theistic, pantheistic, and panentheistic classical pantheist/cosmotheist metaphysical systems, mystical experience is most often understood as individual communion with a god or goddess. These experiences are very subjective, and they may be experienced as visions, dreams, revelations, prophecies, and so forth.
MYTHOLOGY
Myths are generally stories based on tradition and legend designed to explain the universal and local beginnings ("creation myths and "founding myths"), natural phenomena, inexplicable cultural conventions, and anything else for which no simple explanation presents itself. Not all myths need have this explicatory purpose, however. Likewise, most myths involve a supernatural force or deity, but many simple legends and narratives passed down orally from generation to generation have mythic content.
PARANORMAL
Properly speaking, paranormal (anomalous) phenomena are phenomena which are observed and for which there are no suitable explanations (in the context of a specific body of knowledge. As the body of knowledge available increases, some anomalies are incorporated into an explanatory framework and lose their standing as anomalies. Many bodies of knowledge exhibit "anomaly gaps" where theory does not explain (or seem to explain) one or more observations.
VISUALISATION
Visualisation is the ability to creat a picture in our mind's eye of what you see, have seen or want to create in your mind to see and then to use these images in thinking. Mental visual images created thus can be altered at will, and can also be used as a means to relaxation.
WICCA AND PAGANISM
Wicca is the name most modern day Witches use for the Craft. It comes from the Anglo-Saxon word Wicce, meaning to bend or to shape. This is the root word from which we get wicker. It is a Neo-Pagan religion that was founded by Gerald Brosseau Gardner in the 1960's. Wicca is related to shamanism and includes various forms of white magickMost Wiccans call themselves witches, but not all witches are necessarily Wiccan.
